Unlike other dementias, the first signs of behavioural variant frontotemporal #dementia tend to be personality changes and inappropriate behaviour, rather than memory loss. @brien_terence spoke with @NareldaJacobs10 @10NewsFirstMelb about our sodium selenate clinical trial with @AlfredHealth, the world's first potential treatment for bvFTD. He said the biggest roadblock is getting the diagnosis right. "Patients can often get diagnosed as having a mental illness or breakdown, and they don't get a diagnosis and offered a trial like this".
