April 2026 has seen several notable tropical cyclones, one such being Tropical Cyclone Maila in the Solomon Sea. Convection bursts around the eye of the storm signified its intensification on April 7th, reaching maximum sustained winds of 145 mph (230 km/h).

@jmelmed23 If you live in the mid-Atlantic to Northeast, I’d expect more near normal to slightly below normal temperatures. Precipitation should be near to above average though

That being said, we will still be more than 1°C warmer than normal this time of year, with Bermuda near the warmest anomalies in the Atlantic outside the eddies of the Gulf Stream

ENSO UPDATE: (Thread)
There is no doubt about it, the Pacific is getting real toasty & ENSO regions are continuing to warm as westerly wind bursts bring well above average subsurface temperatures to the surface. A strong El Niño is likely, but how strong will it get?
