@aboutasteph We had a game plan that was working well for two and bit quarters. When Sydney upped the ante and changed their approach, our players couldn’t go with them in the 3rd qtr. Voss can’t call time outs - our player leaders need to take more ownership of what happens on the field.

@onepercentas Good read. Close to how I see it too. One thing though that’s chronically underrated were our injuries in 2025. We lost a lot of run and carry which impacted ball movement and the quality of forward entries plus a FF that had already checked out. Not expecting miracles in 2026

@Thomo_Grant I’m not a massive fan of Merrett but I thought he was pretty good tonight. Daicos was very good but not BOG - turned it over a heap. Bont and Ash were the best Vics.

I’ve never held Merrett in the lofty heights he’s regarded in. Games like this expose his deficiencies. He’s a very good player that stands out in a poor team. Best players in average teams are sometimes commensurately not as good in great teams.

Going through team OVER/UNDERS for 2026 and Carlton’s being 8.5 is interesting. Won 9 games last year with a broken locker room, crippled injury list and stagnant coaching group. Everything went wrong. It’s Carlton, so it can always get worse, but still…
