RPG Back Blast 🔥 Incident 2008!!! In a personal recollection, Gen @mkainerugaba described an incident on December 14, 2008, during the beginning of "Operation Lightning Thunder" in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He reported standing close to a soldier firing a Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG), where the back blast threw him approximately 10 meters, resulting in him waking up at the Medical Reception Station (MRS) in Kabamba.. May God continue to protect Gen Kainerugaba 🙏.

The personification of virtue and innocence was crucified. A living sacrifice which reconciled rebellious mankind to the Creator and accomplished what the floods of Noah’s time and the flames of Sodom and Gomorrah could not. Today victory looks like defeat! But He will rise!

Rt Hon Anita Among has no compelling historical mission as Speaker of Parliament that justifies blocking other capable contenders. This is a popular opinion grounded in principle. In leadership, the case for continuity in any high office must rest on a clear, unfinished national task that only the incumbent’s unique vision and momentum can complete. For instance, the President’s generational mandate to transform Uganda’s economy, strengthen social cohesion, and integrate the country strategically into the East African Community and broader African market, is precisely such a mission. It demands time, consistency, and long-term stewardship that no single term can fully deliver. The same logic applies to the current Chief of Defence Forces. His drive to root out corruption in the military, build institutional capacity, and forge international security partnerships is delivering measurable progress that benefits the nation. Disrupting such work prematurely would be unwise. Yet the Speakership is not an executive or lifetime role. It is a legislative position; presiding over debate, facilitating law-making, and maintaining order in the House for a single five-year parliamentary term. It is elected by MPs themselves, not bestowed for perpetuity. So the honest question the 12th Parliament must answer is: What unique, historic mission is Rt Hon Anita Among pursuing that requires denying other qualified MPs within the NRM or beyond, a fair chance to lead? She has served since 2022 and claims a record of high legislative output, constituency outreach, and House stability. Her supporters point to the passage of numerous bills and her role in maintaining order. But we also note persistent allegations of corruption, UK and US sanctions over misuse of public funds, and a style many see as overly aligned with the executive rather than transformative parliamentary reform. None of these achievements constitute a once in a generation “historical mission” that only she can finish, unlike the President’s economic vision or the CDF’s military overhaul. If better, cleaner, or more unifying leadership exists among the newly elected MPs, why tilt the field to protect the incumbent? Why deny Uganda’s legislature the chance to choose the strongest candidate on merit alone? Continuity without a clear, irreplaceable mission is not statesmanship. It is incumbency protection. The new House must vote freely, openly, and in the national interest. Anything less cheapens the office and the democracy it serves.
