As CTO, I want to develop a culture of mastery. Masters don't learn on their own; they share and learn from each other. Leading by example, I started an engineering blog at my company. Our first post is about a mistake I made in PostgreSQL (and Swift). traduality.com/postgresql-tra…

When they fix this in AI-generated videos: - What they will tell happened: AI now masters the physics of the human body. - What they will have really done: added more gymnasts' videos to the training data.

Last week, we asked Devin to make a change. It added an event on the banner component mount, which caused 6.6M @posthog events in one week, which will cost us $733 Devin cost $500 + $733 = $1273 😢👍 Lesson - Review AI-generated code multiple times

Share this image to keep the bread sandwich meme alive. Any time someone writes way too much boiler plate, or documentation that is meaningless. Whip this bad boy out.

I benchmarked over 100 HTML tags so you don't have to and here are the visualized results. Not all HTML tags are created equal!

@codeopinion Best way I can say it: it's easy to solve all the problems I've seen without domain events at all, and better?

@codeopinion I don't understand domain events - yes I understand the concept, but no I don't understand where they fit in. I've seen some kind of implementation of them ~once, probably badly. Meanwhile event-driven architectures are great and work for me 👍👍👍

I keep reading that "domain events" are distributed and consumed in-memory. Where did this notion come from that they must be in-memory? I assume it's so you can wrap all the consumers in the same trx as the producer, which IMO is incredibly gross.
