@PowerfulAuraX One of my cats was at the vet, purring. He purred while they were taking his temp. Say what?!? Then he was purring so loud that they couldn’t hear his lungs or heart. The vet laughed, gave up and said that he looked fine.

@themom_katie I’m good friends with my ex husband. We weren’t married for 23 years. We weren’t good partners, but we’re great friends. We are both terrible with money. He liked visitors. I’m a home-alone-body. I’m hard to live with- I admit that. But the split was my choice.

@Shery_cricket Honestly, as a female, I’ve always been weird about periods. Maybe due to my neurodivergence?

My dad has always been weird about anything related to periods.
Growing up, he'd call them "gross" and say guys didn't need to hear about "women's issues."
Last week, my 12-year-old brother came into my room with a question.
One of his friends had gotten her period at school, and he wanted to know what it was like because he didn't want to accidentally say something insensitive or embarrass her.
So I explained it.
Nothing graphic. Just the basics.
I told him about cramps, mood swings, headaches, and how sometimes a little kindness can go a long way when someone isn't feeling their best.
We were in the middle of the conversation when my dad overheard us from the kitchen.
He immediately shouted, "Stop talking about that disgusting stuff. Boys don't need to know about it."
Before I could respond, my little brother looked up from the table and said,
"Maybe if more boys understood it, girls wouldn't have to deal with people acting like it's gross."
The room went completely quiet.
My dad didn't know what to say.
For a moment, he just stood there staring at him before turning around and walking back into the kitchen.
A few seconds later, my brother looked at me and asked,
"Anyway, if she gets cramps, what chocolate is best?"
And honestly, that was the moment I realized he understood the situation better than a lot of grown adults.
Sometimes being mature isn't about knowing all the answers.
Sometimes it's just about caring enough to ask the right questions.

@DoctorPerin I don’t make enough cortisol. That’s no fun either.

@MajorSpoilers I had a disgusting burger at Wendy’s around 1988. I refused to go there again until around 2015. I still won’t eat their burgers. I still rarely go. I don’t really trust their food. I do like a frosty now and again. That’s about it.

@Autistic_Lauren Growing up, I liked all animals, but I considered myself a dog person. Now, I have both dogs and cats, but I am definitely a cat lady.

@MemesToView I have at least six email addresses. One funny, one a nickname, a few with my name, and one old family business name for fun. There is absolutely no reason to not have a professional sounding email in your arsenal.

@sammh20fall @PatsKam Thank you. I’m shocked there weren’t more comments like this. Nobody wants to walk a mile in my shoes.

@PatsKam Severe trauma can cause many mental defects. People are just out here trying to survive. Sometimes explanations are enough.
