Boring post. But if you're asking "why did 538's numbers change?", keep in mind that there is a tiny bit of sampling error. We run 40,000 simulations with each model run, which translates to a margin of error of around* 0.5%. * Less than that for probabilities close to 0 or 100

@ScottAdamsSays When you talk about the model you keep on commentating that the range is 100,000 to 1 million where the actual range of the 30 day shutdown was based on around 100,000 to 240,000 so a result of 60,000 is significantly worse.

If you are surprised that a complex prediction model did not accurately predict the future, the problem is on your end. Why did you ever think that was a thing?
