Soo I’m having a LIBRARY named after me! 😭 @WoolwichFrontRm is a community space in Woolwich and they’re launching the Shani Akilah Library It’s such an honour as Woolwich both features in my book and has been instrumental in my writing journey 🥹

As of yesterday on National Poetry Day, I have received the honour of becoming Birminghams Poet Laureate ❤️ It is humbling to be chosen to represent the city that gave me so much, the city that has moulded me, I pray now that I am able to give back.
