Today Rachel and I welcomed Abi Gbago, Newham Council’s CEO, to a walkabout all across Forest Gate North.
We talked about what we’re proudest of as well as our biggest challenges, and how officers and local politicians can work together for residents 🤝

After 12 years, the @LondonLegacy Planning Decisions Committee held its last 5-hour meeting! It’s been a privilege to help shape the QEII Park and surrounding areas over my 5 years. Exciting challenges await when planning powers return to the boroughs in December!

URGENT NEED OF MOVING HERE!
Newham council have placed my grandma in a hazardous flat and for 10+ years have avoided fixing main issues within the property, which is taking over our lives & we want to be replaced permanently, as we shouldn’t be enduring this.

@ColoradoMike81 @sewistwrites My youngest, despite my efforts, ate almost no protein at all that I was aware of for at least 2 years, with no discernible impact on her growth or health (um, so far…!!). Hang in there. These small people are sent to try us.

@sewistwrites One random day my 6yo announced that she was "off of string cheese for now" and ...that was her primary source of protein! She won't eat meat, or beans, or eggs. So I guess she's just not going to grow for the next year(?)

📣 A further update from @NewhamLondon about the incident in Forest Gate E7 which is being investigated by @MPSNewham.
Anyone with information to assist the investigation is requested to call 101 quoting CAD 1103/10AUG24.

We are aware of the incident that took place at 345am at Bronze Royal African Bar in Romford Road E7 where it was reported a firearm had been seen. Three males were found inside the bar who had sustained superficial injuries.
