I was recently invited to speak at @TheFoundrySF on startup negotiations.
It’s amazing to think how much founders negotiate in startups, often without even realizing it.
You might know about negotiations with cofounders, investors, potential employees, consultants, advisors, you should even negotiate with your lawyers (lawyer fees are some of your biggest expenses!), & if you’re lucky, you're negotiating your merger/acquisition deal.
But you’re also negotiating on the day to day with direct reports, design partners, vendors, customers, & more.
My 1st rec is to form your negotiation strategy. And for that, you need to get crystal clear with yourself on your priorities for each scenario.
