@JackFritzWIP He actually couldn’t spot his 4S in innings two and three, and was going to his slider to get back in the count. The premise is correct (command) but his secondary will improve when teams stop eliminating his 4S. His CB and Splitter are elite.

Painter is very clearly going to be good one day.
This season was always about going through the growing pains. He’s shown flashes and the stuff is there.
The next step in his development is refining his secondary offerings and being more efficient.
He’s going to get there, just going to take a bit. Always does with high school arms.
