I still think about the first basketball I received as a kid. It seems so simple… but having that ball changed everything for me. It gave me a sense of belonging, sparked confidence and instilled discipline and leadership skills that I’ve kept with me throughout my entire career. @MSE launched this year’s District Kicks program at CareFirst Arena – welcoming 6th graders from across @dcpublicschools and ensuring they have something as simple yet powerful as a new pair of sneakers. For many of these students, access is the first step. And sometimes, that first step can change everything. I’m proud to partner with @MayorBowser to continue investing in the DMV’s next generation of athletes and leaders 👏
