For too long, care leavers have been disadvantaged, often struggling to access jobs, education, and the social networks that many of us take for granted. By giving them the freedom to move around our region, we’re investing in their futures and showing that nobody should be left behind. From half-price travel for apprentices to our £2 cap on bus fares, we’re committed to making sure transport works for those who need it most. Every young person in our region deserves the chance to thrive, and this is another step toward making that happen.

Really pleased to be speaking at the launch event for this important @CarersTrust report today. Young carers on average missed 23 days of school in 2022-23, compared to 14 days missed by young people who are not young carers. Excellent set of recommendations 👏👏
