@mrgrain Tagging @pgarbe & @rix0rrr who I hope can provide me some guidance / references for CDK tricks to keep your constructs JSII compatible? I can’t be the only one struggling with finding the right way to expose a good DevX (internally my colleagues switched to TS only constructs)

Any tips on keeping constructs JSII compatible? Is there an article with a list of things to do? (For example how to work around now being able to pass a fn as an argument, not able to use generics, …)? @mattbonig @awscdkio

This means that you can write booleans in mappings but behind the scenes CFN is shuffling stuff into strings, then reconverting from string into boolean if the property requires a boolean. If it requires a string...it'll convert your bool to a string. Mind boggling. /2

CFN quirks colliding: * Mappings are only allowed to be String or List types. * CloudFormation helpfully transforms in Conditions and Mappings to Strings if they are not * Properties will be casted to their type if they aren't already in their type. /1
