Official: Mesenbrink Gets the Hodge! Penn State's Mitchell Mesenbrink has won the 2026 Hodge Trophy after his second consecutive undefeated season & going 27-0. Mesenbrink won every single match this season by bonus, with the exception of a 6-0 decision over Bryce Hepner in the NCAA Quarterfinals. The Nittany Lions, who have had 10 of the last 15 finalists, are now responsible for 2 of the last 3 trophies and have more than double the Hodge Trophies of any other program, with 8 winners.

I should be hating this run the Flyers are on because ultimately they aren't good enough to make a deep playoff run but I guess we might as well enjoy it!

For what it’s worth, teams make ~$2 million for each game played in the NCAA tournament. The Big Ten pools that money and divides it among member institutions.
So Penn State is making some bread this March despite missing the dance.
