@preshing you want time.time() or better time.clock_gettime(time.CLOCK_MONOTONIC) on Python 3 for immunity to clock changes.

@preshing preshing.com/20110924/timin… has good Google juice but is misleading. time.clock() is CPU time, almost certainly not relevant for HTTP.

@pwaring makes little difference here. I maintain (with others) MySQL in Debian too, courtesy of Canonical. Debian's opinion is the same :-)

@pwaring if you don't like change, 14.04 is supported until 2019. You can even run it inside a container on 16.04 :-)

@pwaring I don't think your rant is at all justified. They did exactly the right thing here.

@pwaring which is why they fixed it in a major release. Sites should test before upgrading. Don't want? 5.6 still supported.
