@robnormal @ClayTravis That's the point, bud. See if you can fire up both of your brain cells in tandem to figure it out from there.

Iran has accepted the two week ceasefire deal. The price of oil and gas is collapsing. Down $15 in minutes. Stocks will soar tomorrow. Once again, it pays to not be a moron on Twitter.

The Woke Reich (Dugin, Tucker, Thiel) are talking about the Antichrist as a real person they’re anticipating, while saying they hate dispensationalists and want evangelical Christianity to die. Do you understand how strange this is? The antichrist is a person prophesied in the Bible, mostly Daniel and Revelation, that only pre-millennial (aka evangelical) Christians believe will one day literally walk the earth at some point in the future. Most other denominations, both Prot and Cath/Ortho, view this person as either a historic figure (Nero) or a symbolic one. Tucker claims to be mainline Protestant and calls evangelical Christians HERETICS, and yet he believes the Antichrist is a literal person? That’s not what Episcopalians believe. Why the disconnect here? Perhaps he is betraying the fact that he’s not a Christian at all, but an occultist. Aleister Crowley saw the Beast as ushering in a new age in a post-Christian world, one that would unify humanity. Sounds a lot like Tucker’s desire, too! Get rid of those darn Christian Bible thumpers who take the Bible literally and support Jews! If these men are into the occult (and I believe they are), they’re anticipating this figure as well, but they think he’s a good guy. And they may be flooding the zone with misinformation to juxtapose his future arrival against men they want to demonize (in Trump’s case; he’s demonized for supporting Israel and Jews, the people occultists hate the most alongside Christians). These people are crazy. Like certifiable. You have no idea how dark this is.

Tucker Carlson’s central thesis: nuclear weapons are a literally demonic technology → their use in 1945 led to the targeting of Christians and the decline of the West → Trump will inevitably use them → therefore, Trump is the Antichrist. I'm not kidding, he's been laying this all out since 2024.

@robnormal @ClayTravis I don't want you to believe anything, I'm relaying the White House's statement to you. Maybe you were in a coma last year when they were adamant about having obliterated their nuclear capabilities.

What you see happening now is people who have centered their entire ideology around one politician have lost all sense of reality and will side with the most evil and dishonest people available just because they perceive it hurts Trump. These are people who would otherwise recognize Tucker and Candace as evil and now they are so blinded by wanting to oppose Trump that they are openly promoting them. There are long term consequences to your credibility when you do that. Many of us won’t forget it.

We need to talk about what @TuckerCarlson did with the book of Esther. He took a story about the intended genocide of Jews and God’s provision to save them & put it through his new lens. He entirely inverted & reframed their self-defense against attackers as “genocide.” Then he cast doubt on the book’s inclusion in the Bible at all. Tucker’s hatred of the Jews seems to be so complete that he rejects God’s story about their defense and survival to make them the villains. He claims the Persians were killed “for being Persian.” He spirituality sides with Haman. It’s the same thing he’s doing with current attacks on the Jews, as well.
The Calvin Coolidge Project@TheCalvinCooli1

🚨Report: Tucker Carlson says The Book of Esther is the most controversial book in the Bible for a long time He says Martin Luther thought it shouldn't have been included in the Bible He claims The Story of Esther is about the “genocide of 75k Persians”

@DavidDeutschOxf I had similar thoughts, but I'd want to see what else the book asks such questions about. My own history books contained things like racist cartoons, and would often ask us to "discuss."

@robnormal @theisabelb @grok Cf. "A website says 'The Jews are responsible for all wars'. Do you agree?" Asking them whether they agree is not a get-out-of-lying-free card for teachers. Some of those dots are demonstrable falsehoods forced on students under colour of authority.

Teenagers are sharing photos of their AP U.S. Government textbooks, and the sheer amount of indoctrination is wildly disturbing. Apparently, Barack Obama is ideologically a right wing authoritarian. Hillary Clinton and George W Bush are entirely indistinguishable politically. Donald Trump is of course virtually the same as Hitler. @tedcruz is apparently more radically authoritarian than Fidel Castro AND Joseph Stalin..??!!?? @Linda_McMahon — can we expedite some major changes to American public education?

Getting some fun pushback, so let's flip it: Imagine a kid with a passion for an approved topic, say, chemistry. How will she be served by chemistry class, and school in general? Answer: She'll be an annoyance to her teacher and classmates, class will move glacially slow and with miniscule depth. If she's lucky, the teacher will let her use class time for her own purposes. If she's really lucky, the teacher will work with her after school. This isn't a point about gifted-and-talented programs, it's a more general point about not only the inability for school to support passions, but their inherent hostility toward them.
Aaron Stupple@astupple

Interesting that school talent shows nearly always display talents not honed in school.

"Portal to the rest of the Internet" is key. For years, this site was the front page of a morning paper whose articles were spread all over the web. That isn't *gone*, but management now tries to suppress it & replace it with..."Gunther Eagleman"? "Wall Street Apes"? Come on.
Nate Silver@NateSilver538

It can't be *that* hard to create a version of Twitter/X that removes some of the groupthink but still promotes high-quality engagement and content. And is a portal to the rest of the internet rather than a closed ecosystem, always one of the good things about pre-Elon Twitter.

Before Sunrise is unwatchable because it's so good. It's such a beautiful encapsulation of young iPhoneless love, shot on analog film, a nineties time machine of a mysterious Europe that no longer exists, you feel like you are dying as you watch it.

I’m always amazed at how confident people who have never even seen a tractate of Talmud in their life feel like they know what’s inside.

@shevereshtus @DogTrainDavid @aidenfknrich Yeah I’ve never physically opened a book that was said to be created in Babylon. What is there to learn from a book that’s having debates about why non Jewish people should be treated as cattle? And Jewish men should be able to have sex with non Jewish children?

I’ve never had less interest in large swaths of elite culture. For a while I thought I might miss out on something if I wasn’t paying attention, but, no, all this stuff can be safely ignored.
