A bird? A plane? Nope! This is a rocket engine pintle! This is one part of the KSD booster engine injector system! These photos were taken during a water flow test of the engine hardware, in which the team attempts to categorize the efficacy of the orifices. Questions? Tweet us!

Last November, we scrubbed the launch of our Lady Elizabeth rocket due to issues with our recovery system. After making fixes over winter break, we are now ready to go back out for another launch attempt on February 1st! #rockets #sdsu #university #launch

Last week Rocket Project had the opportunity to give a speech for the 1969: First Moon Landing stamp unveiling at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. It was a great honor to be included in remembering what created generations of Dreamers!

@rocketsdsu Beautiful! May I ask you which kind of electro valves do you use? COTS or custom built? It seems to me that the ones normally available are very heavy for low thrust engines

@rocketsdsu Is that a printed chamber? What material? What’s dumping into the nozzle? Is that for cooling?

Any former/current grad students who might be able to talk to an undergrad interested in hybrid/liquid/experimental rocket propulsion as part of the @sedsusa grad school bootcamp? He doesn't have any aerospace faculty at his school, and is trying to figure out where to apply
