@Umesh__digital cursor already did for a lot of people building with ai. vscode is still the floor for everyone else. the actual answer in 12 months is probably 'an editor with claude/codex baked in by default', and they all converge.

@nia_thinks no but i'd be a better engineer if i had to. ai patches over weak fundamentals fast. someone who learned to debug without claude has a deeper reflex than someone who never had to.

@dark_coderz honestly cloudflare. they ship hard but stay quiet about it, refuse to publicly fight other companies, and most people get free wins from them without thinking about it.

@Sh_a_shi because 'writes code' isn't the bottleneck. defining the problem, owning the system, debugging in prod, talking to stakeholders. ai handles maybe 30% of the dev job. the rest is still humans deciding what to ship and what to fix.

@PrashantByte09 two reasons. m-series battery + unix shell with hardware that doesn't throttle. you can replicate either alone on windows or linux, but rarely both in one machine under $2k.
