Here's a little "glow up" from my first rough sketch on the left, to my digital mockup (middle), to something close to resembling a finished product on the right. 🚀 Kickstarter launches in 2 weeks.

There is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to the first major IP that stops spending $100M+ on IRL slop and gives 10 AI studios $10M each. This is less crazy than it sounds: We’re 6 months away from 95% AI photorealism. Start the writers room now with 10 different top Hollywood directors, pair them with AI native studios. 3 months later, you have 10 different scripted seasons in different genres that all explore different aspects of the shared universe. Spend 3 months doing look and production development. Once Veo 5 or Kling 4.6 arrives, you’ll be ready for production with every shot Storyboarded and it’ll take 2 months to do all the acting (via real SAG actors with motion control capture) Animation takes a month and then post production takes 2. By the end of 2026 you could have 10 SEASONS OF STAR TREK content in different niches catering to different fan bases. We exist in a hyper niche world. Hire a super liberal writer, hire a conservative writer. Have one show more directionally space horror like the Expanse. Have one space comedy like what Seth McFarland did. The failure of Modern Star Trek is that it tries to be everything to everyone but that’s now how entertainment works anymore. Niche down. Embrace AI (helmed by veteran filmmakers) And watch as you pioneer the model that could actually save Hollywood instead of burning it to the ground $100M at a time to get 20,000 views on your premiere.
Nerdrotic@Nerdrotics

Paramount spent between 6-10 million an episode on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. They put the premiere on YouTube for free and got 1300 live viewers. RIP Star Trek

@Raindropsmedia1 If I got haircuts every two weeks I wouldn't do it but I go every couple of months and that's around what I pay and it's a pretty great cut so I'm happy.

@levelsio What does it really matter, like why do other people care, eventually when the time is right, when you see a gap that needs to be filled etc you will come up with something, you don't have to be on the latest thing 100% of the time constantly switching.

People keep asking me "are you working on something new?" and I'm not and it's because I don't have any real new ideas or problems to solve? Also AI in 2022 was groundbreaking you had the first image model, then the first real LLM, then video a year later, then 3d Now most of it is iterative, the image model is better, the LLM is better, the video model is better, everything gets better So there's less stuff to jump on for me technologically I think unless I go deeper and develop it myself I guess What's weird is most of my friends I ask "do you have any new ideas you're working on?" and they also have nothing, maybe it's some collective thing (I don't know so that's why I post it)

Believe me when I say Hollywood is cooked. Here is a trailer I created in 20 minutes using @midjourney and @Kling_ai This is a movie I'd LOVE to see on the big screen. I'm tired of eating whatever the next big franchise has to offer me.

sorry Jake let me explain a bit more about my work in my advertising agency: because we work with big clients, we run a lot of tests, especially with AI why do I use a famous actor for my internal tests? because a well-known face is instantly recognisable and easy to share to clients, you immediately understand the expressions, the acting style, and whether the generation is efficient or not it helps us judge the quality of the tool of course, I know the ethical side is complicated these tests are strictly internal, purely experimental, and never used for commercial purposes. using someone’s likeness without consent is completely forbidden, and I fully respect that i’m just sharing this video as an example of a technical test I generated by mistake, not for any public or commercial use what do you think of it? the tech is powerful, but it needs to be handled responsibly

AI video just unlocked something insane for brands you can generate the full creation process of your product from a single frame watching something being made = instant trust people don't just buy products anymore, they buy proof the video below was made from one frame + vague prompt now imagine doing this with your actual product with good prompting

This is an AI-generated film. It is better than 99% of the short films I've ever seen. (It is better than 99.999% of AI generated films I've seen.) Every AI tool in it was (masterfully) used by creator Simon Meyer. But before we scream about robots destroying art let's reflect a moment on who dreamt up the concept, WROTE it, planned it and oversaw the whole process? Simon Meyer is a human artist. Bravo Simon.
Ege@egeberkina

Just saw probably the coolest Halloween film made with AI today, insane stuff 🎃 It was created by Simon Meyer, who broke down the whole process: Veo3 for the core scenes, Nano Banana & Higgsfield Popcorn for the wide shots, close-ups and cutaways, Enhancor & Magnific for the upscales, Kling & Seedance for the animation, Artlist for the music, ElevenLabs for the voiceover Seriously wild workflow 🔥

@savbrads What annoys me is I like to use emojis and dashes sometimes (not "em dashes" just dashes. But AI has ruined that for me LOL. And yes it's getting easy to spot AI I even notice it in videos I watch when a script sounds a bit to AI-ish.

This is an important point about AI-generated content. The conversation around AI and creativity often misses the crucial distinction between the tool and the artist. Simon didn't just press a button and get a masterpiece. He conceived the entire creative vision, wrote the story, made countless artistic decisions throughout, curated and directed the AI outputs, and assembled everything into a cohesive final piece. The AI tools were basically advanced brushes in the hands of a skilled artist. Just like we don't say "the camera made the film" about Christopher Nolan's work, the real artistry here is in Meyer's vision, taste, and execution. The human is still doing all the creative heavy lifting IMO and most Anti-AI folks dont get this.
