@TreciaKS It depends on what you're interested in! If you're mostly interested in handling web servers and how data is requested & passed around, JavaScript doesn't have to be your strong suit. If you want to excel at building UIs then I think JavaScript is a must-have.

@BHOLTBHOLT I have 2 strategies. 1) Write code that the compiler supports better, so (just a guess) if TS hasn’t narrowed the type of queue inside of the opened “while” block, use another option. 2) Just cast it. Code golf is fun but if it doesn’t add user value I try to move on.

@kyleshevlin With your fresh perspective, don't be too attached to the way the company is already doing things. Start your own greenfield project that defines new conventions for everything!

@EzraReze @kvmac2011 @kofikobs Humans seem to naturally tend towards expansionism. I'm not sure if it's about comfort. However, I suspect there's a deep innate urge to shape our environments to suit our ends. From home, to community, to whatever largest scale we think we can influence.
