I read all 22 points. It's a defense contractor's manifesto dressed in philosophical language, and it's extremely well done. The thesis is simple: Silicon Valley should stop building apps and start building weapons. The rest is ornamentation. But here's what caught my eye as someone who reads Palantir's 10-K every quarter. Last fiscal year, Palantir's US government revenue was $1.2 billion — 42% of total revenue. Their US commercial segment is growing faster, but government contracts are still the floor the entire valuation stands on. The stock is trading at roughly 200x earnings. So when the CEO publishes a book arguing that the tech elite has a moral obligation to build military AI, and that the atomic age of deterrence is ending and a new AI-driven era is beginning — that's not philosophy. That's a customer acquisition strategy with a bibliography. Point 5 is the tell: "The question is not whether A.I. weapons will be built; it is who will build them." That's not a moral argument. That's a TAM slide. None of this makes the arguments wrong. Some of them are genuinely sharp — particularly on national service and the corrosive effect of public life on talent. But a $260 billion defense tech company publishing a manifesto about why the nation needs more defense tech is not exactly a disinterested intellectual exercise.

@dave43law No, it's the rules. It isn't up to the Uni to decide if the visa is cancelled or not, it's up to UKVI. But the Uni, like any organisation dealing with international students or staff, has to comply with UKVI's regulations. Not doing so can lead to serious sanctions.
