The rule is if a player who appears on two of three major Top 100 prospect lists (Baseball America, Pipeline, ESPN) and is on your OD roster wins ROY, you get an extra draft pick

- less than 60 days of active MLB service
- must accrue more than 172 active roster days during the applicable season

Cristopher Sánchez previous extension had club control through 2030 for $48 million — an extreme bargain. This new deal tacks on just shy of $60 million for his ages 34 and 35 seasons. Total guarantee, as @MattGelb reported, is $107 million. Phillies take care of their ace.

Didier Fuentes has made the Atlanta Braves’ Opening Day roster and at 20 years old will be part of their bullpen — and he earned it. Fuentes’ numbers this spring: nine innings, no hits, no runs, no walks, 17 strikeouts. He was too good for the Braves to deny and is a huge talent.

this kind of commentary is so funny to me. these guys wanted the hawks to go 16-0 over their last 11 games.
11 straight wins, all wins by 9 or more, +196 point differential in those 11 games. there are plenty of teams that do not throttle bad teams like the hawks are doing rn.

now that his $ is officially freed up with the resolution of the appeal, i wonder if the team moves quickly to spend it between now and OD.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar will miss the entire 2026 season after his appeal of a positive PED test was resolved. He will serve a 162-game suspension for testing positive a second time and will be ineligible for postseason play.
