Here's the thing.....looking at the top 5 in this lineup and at the same time seeing a -19 run diff and a 8-15 record is baffling. I think it's time these guys just go out there and do the work we know they can do. Need another masterclass from Spence tonight!!

With all the talk and frustration of @astros fans I think these things need to be considered. If the Astros were to fire Dana Brown before the Draft who would you have drafting? You gonna post Bagwell in that spot? This draft is the most important in recent Astros history. Now Joe Esapada and Josh Miller seem much more realistic fall guys at this point. A team that can't win games, with a pitching staff that can't stop delivering game ending hits to the opponents. Either way, Omar Lopez would slide in as MGR if Esapada were to be fired. Even then how many more games would this team win if the performance of starters doesn't improve and the injuries don't get any less frequent.

@SanAntonioTim I'm not ready to either....and when you look at 1-5 of this lineup, a -19 diff and this record, this should not be the case...but yea, pitching depth is a struggle so it just hurts more right now. Kinda like that second knock to the shin after you've already got a bruise.

@ryanbokros This year will be Dana's undoing if Burrows and Imai don't pan out. Rome posted some expected stats showing how unlucky Burrows has been, and Imai has a tired arm, so I'm not calling those acquisitions busts on April 20th.

Luhnow was very good as a GM, but let's not forget he got to tank for 3 consecutive seasons & drop the payroll to $25M, which neither Click or Dana did. Also, if Casey Close doesn't make the mistake of advising Brady Aiken to reject the Astros reduced offer, we don't get Bregman.

Oh, hell no....I've been one to bring that up many, many times. Joe managing a hospital ward, Dana's job is organizational depth, somehow last year they missed the playoffs by a game. This year feels different, but I'm not one to discount how well this team has performed in the last few years despite....

@ryanbokros Are we just going to ignore the fact the Astros have had the most injuries in MLB since Dana became the GM, yet they've won 90, 88, and 87 games relying on scrubs like Colton Gordon, Ryan Gusto, and Jason Alexander, just to name a few?

I dunno….Vasquez has a couple years of being a full time catcher and his stuff wasn’t that much to write home about. I don’t think he’s got everyday or starting catcher stamina left in him. I think they give Yainer another month or so to see what’s up before any significant change is made to playing time.

Christian Vazquez has simply outplayed Yainer Diaz. Question, when do the Astros pull the plug on Yainer Diaz? It’s became a frustrating watch at the plate and behind the plate too

A kid that celebrates like this, and plays for an org that supports it, will probably never sniff a meaningful level of baseball…so I guess let him get his while he can. I don’t like it, but I’m not his parent, coach, or org director. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@ryanbokros As a hitter.. His plate discipline is so bad he won’t challenge calls and I think Houston management has laid that out for him. The two ABS walks he has were initiated by the other team.
