I have friends who can’t have a dog bc it doesn’t work with their current lifestyle [travel a lot for work etc] but love nothing more than when I bring my dog over [they ask me to] If they’re close friends, you likely will know where they fall on the subject. Otherwise it can’t hurt to ask. Being pushy about it or insisting is weird though [whether the host has a dog or not]

My contribution to the dog discourse is that it's rude to ask a dogless person if you can bring your dog to their home. They know what dogs are. If they wanted a dog in their home, they would own a dog. They don't own a dog because they don't want a dog in their home.

@CharlotteAlter Dog owners, please don't take this advice. Some of us love dogs and don't have one because we are responsible people that travel a lot and not fair to have a dog. We want to see yours anytime!
