In my entire sports watching career I’ve never seen a more unanimous & vocal consensus that a game was rigged.
From journalists to independent viewers to current & former pro players the clear take is that NY was kept in the game at best; outright picked to win it at worst.

@ryankopperud @Alexand28619667 You can’t just assume that one team deserves shooting fouls lol. NY defense was so bad in the first half that they weren’t contesting shots even… so no foul shots when you don’t foul on a shot ha

@atx_traineryeag @Alexand28619667 The discrepancy is in the type of foul. The Liberty were awarded *17* more free throws than the Lynx.

@Alexand28619667 This is the take I can’t get over and can’t abide by. At the end of regulation the Liberty had shot nearly *20 more free throws* than the Lynx.
The Lynx didn’t “leave the lead to one possession”, the game had been *kept* within one possession using free throws all night.

But despite playing against the worst NY has ever played this season, the Lynx left the lead to one possession. Then had ample time in OT to win it, but choked instead.
Refs sent it to OT, but MIN gave up the championship 🤷🏻♀️

Also, the WNBA commissioner didn’t come out wearing a Lynx jersey after game four to hand them a trophy either.

All except those that work for, or have connections to/with that certain “4-letter network!!” Kicker is they still talk about the “Fail Mary”, & them moaning about other “officiating malfeasances” brought about replay usage in all sports-but they tap dancing around this one.🤷🏿♂️👍🏿

@NelsonBeth Huge difference between bad officiating and officiating with a motive. Hard agree the officiating was bad through the whole series but last night was *clearly* motivated. Sabrina and Stewart shot a combined 5/34, their team made 2 three's the entire night, and they win by 5?

@ryankopperud I honestly felt the same way. Isn’t it also ironic that the word displayed across the New York jerseys is “Equality”?
There was nothing equal about how the series was called. Let alone the last game. Look at shots made, shooting percentage and any other statistical indicator.
