Here is an extensively labeled case of usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) from a patient with IPF showing that - contrary to dogma - microscopic honeycomb change occurs adjacent to bronchioles I anticipate that misinterpretation of this simple fact causes many cases of UIP to be misdiagnosed as "BIP"
