I’m in utter denial and plan to stay that way so refuse ever to acknowledge @scottostler’s departure from the Chronicle. He’s outstanding in every way, and my brain and heart will not process this news. A delight as a colleague, a treasure as a columnist. Congrats, Scotty. 👏🏻💜

While I recovered from my 1st brain surgery @scottostler would call every few days to check in on me. Maybe the greatest columnist I ever read and we shared many many laughs in press boxes. Good on you for retiring Scotty but you've left a massive void in your wake
