High point gets more grief than they should. Look, it's a cheap (definitionally) handgun. It's made with cheap materials and that shows. However, they also have great customer service. If you do have a problem, they will fix it. They are good in my book. Their carbines have always been pretty good and I actually am moderately ok with their ARs, though their wholesale to MSRP on those is a bit out of whack.

That time when I tested the new @HiPointFirearms 10mm and used some Beskar/Mandalorian armor just in case something went horribly wrong. It worked flawlessly as they usually do. It turns out my paranoia was unwarranted. 🤣 Seriously, their guns work great.
