@EducatedBeaver @Crondog78 Great explanation. Those with stewardship can for sure receive revelation for those individuals. Just as the prophet receives revelation for the church.

@Crondog78 @Seth_1 Absolutely! But there is also a stewardship of revelation. I cannot receive revelation on your behalf, but i can for my children. However, i can receive revelation to be a friend to you. A bishop is a steward over his congregation and can receive revelation on its behalf.

Wow. You can’t tell me Bishops don’t receive revelation for their ward. They 💯 do. What a cool experience!

@DrFrankTurek You should focus on Christ and following Him. Let Christ be the judge and for you to forgive. In other words focus on you and your belief not that of others. Only preach truth.

He’s a great guy! We were in his stake for a bit, till they reorganized it. He’s a well respected attorney and has been serving in leadership positions for quite some time. He also just literally gave away all his stuff to whoever wanted it so he could move and serve in his new calling.

An interesting note from the bios of the new General Authority Seventies published today: Elder Jeremiah J. Morgan is from Missouri and was raised RLDS before joining our Church at 18. Possibly the first prominent ex-RLDS convert in Church leadership.

@sonicdrivein removed their half price drinks (should be the normal price) I’d rather go to Swig which is now in my area. ✌️Sonic. It was great why it lasted.

@ScottRoberts For a theology nerd, you really don’t know the theology of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Come study with us, stop reading books about us, not written by us. Thanks

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches a very different Gospel than the Bible. Just a few examples: 1. God was once a man, and we can become gods (Lorenzo Snow, "As man now is, God once was"; Doctrine and Covenants 132) 2. Jesus is a created being, not eternally God (Doctrine and Covenants 93:21–22; Gospel Principles, ch. 3) 3. Scripture includes the Book of Mormon and others (Articles of Faith 1:8; introduction to the Book of Mormon) 4. Salvation involves works and temple ordinances (2 Nephi 25:23; Doctrine and Covenants 131-132) 5. God the Father has a physical body (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22) This is not the Gospel once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).

'The Chosen' creator Dallas Jenkins, talking to two Mormon teachers, explains that Mormons have such a reverence and genuine respect for Christ- more than most evangelicals do-and they honor scripture and exhibit fidelity to scripture.

You haven’t really studied what Joseph taught. That’s an extremely twisted and biased view of history. Joseph had a single shot pistol and he was surrounded by a mob with rifles. I would call that an ambush not a a gun fight. Kirtland Safety Society failed before the events that led to his death and it failed due to others outside of Smith’s control. No matter your view of him he was influential and right about a lot of things before they were known or heard about. He was a prophet and a man ahead of his time.

Smith was killed in a gunfight where he was armed. He was in that gunfight because of the things he did unrelated to his theology. Smith wasn’t martyred for his faith. He was killed because he had deprived men of their wealth (Kirtland Safety Society) and their families (Smith married women who were already married). Smith developed Mormonism to achieve the three things that motivate some men to destructive ends: Power, Wealth and Sex. When Smith began his movement in 1827 from Harmony, PA with his new wife Emma, he was broke. He lived off the charity of men like Martin Harris, Josiah Stowell, Isaac Hale and Peter Whitmer. By 1844, Smith owned a Mansion, was mayor of Nauvoo, its commander of the militia and husband to more than 30 women. Smith et al are confidence men and you’re their “mark.” Keep paying that mandatory tithe or no Temple Recommend for you.

Yes of course. Joseph was a prophet. Similar to ancient prophets like Moses. Joseph is the prophet of the restoration and we remember all of the good he did for the world. He overcame so much and ended up giving his life for his belief. That’s worthy of rememberance. Like prophets of old we also study his teachings. He is not a deity, a saint, and we don’t pray to him. He is a prophet and we treat him as such.

@ThoughtfulSaint I didn’t get the email this time….. Maybe I’m a bot…. It cracks me up that there are people who don’t think there are faithful people in our church who want to share and defend our faith.

@grok @jacelala So there is definite evidence that there has been some major disagreements, maybe you could characterize it as a great apostasy?

There are roughly 47,000 Christian denominations worldwide, per the latest Center for the Study of Global Christianity data (as of 2023–2025 estimates). This includes everything from major branches like Catholicism, Orthodoxy, and Protestantism to thousands of independent churches and smaller groups. The exact count varies by how "denomination" is defined—some sources cite 45,000+.

@5Solas2 1000% We believe in one God. God is made up of the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. They are 3 beings perfectly united that make 1 God. The only difference is we believe they are 3 seperate beings, not an unknowable essence.

After going viral for talking about how the @BYU basketball team doesn't practice on Sundays, @byuwbb star @DelaneyGibb shares what it means to honor her faith in God this morning on @foxandfriends w/ @CarlyShimkus. “It’s super cool being able to play for a university like BYU because I am able to represent something greater than myself - my Savior Jesus Christ - and being able to take Sundays off and use it as a day of worship and a day to re-center and re-focus my life on Christ is super special.”

If true, I’m so glad to be a member of Christs church. It’s like they have prophetic insight….. Another insane stat is the 1.5 billion + in charitable contributions made by the church and the countless hours of service donated by members of the church. (Charitable contributions are public) Please note the church does not issue public financial statements. Also assets do not equal cash.
Furkan Gözükara@FurkanGozukara

Absolute insanity. An expert filmmaker exposes how the Mormon Church is hoarding a staggering 350 billion dollars and buying up massive amounts of American land while still demanding money from its followers. The religious corporate greed is terrifying.

Moses is real. He lived, led Israel out of Egypt, talked to God, performed miracles and was received into heaven. He’s not a myth. How is this evidenced? Other than the Bible, Moses appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery in 1836 to bestow the keys of the gathering of Israel.
