Yeah, I think if they did Zack Thompson Tech Jacket, he would literally just look like a doppelganger copy-and-paste Mark Grayson like he does in the comics, and I think fans would complain at how lazy his character design would look.
So I understand why they went with Zoe.

I'm gonna be honest. She didn't do shit in that first fight against the Viltrumites. Like they made it a whole thing that they need Tech Jacket but when the fight happens, nothing of note happens. Not a great first impression.
