So apparently the Inuit will not have enough representation in the votes because they don't keep birth records, or keep them so far away they have to take sled dogs into town that is...what...200 miles away in order to do so?!?! Good reason to just stop this all in it's tracks. The idea is that this will stop a number of people from voting. Mostly those who should not be voting in the first place, and those who really don't care that much to begin with. I almost put illegal and apathetic voters in the same category.

Lisa Murkowski has been on the Senate floor for over ten minutes. As a member of the GOP, she's doing an EXCELLENT job of advocating for the SAVE America Act… oh wait... no, she's not. She's explaining why it's apparently TOO HARD to overcome logistical and geographical issues because of sled dogs and other things far less important than our nation's sovereignty. The amount of effort these people put into opposing something as simple as voter ID is astronomical and only proves how afraid they are.

I’m so glad Rachel Wells did this story. When this brave woman told her story at a town hall last week, it was the first patient I had heard who was refused treatment due to a new TN law. This is horrifying and dangerous for TN women.

I don't have a lot of engagement, but I wanted to share a personal story to give another face on the devastation in WNC. My daughter attends UNCA and we were able to drive into Asheville to get her out Sunday. We brought a carful of supplies, and left them at the fire station 1/4

The rest of it is just as good 😍

Saw a mom at the Costco food court struggling with her toddler while wearing a crying baby and also trying to eat…at first I remembered how hard those days were and then I realized I don’t have to sit there, I can help and be the village for a stranger if only for a moment.

I'm reading this now and got really, really mad at my Kindle when it died and I had to stop. It's so excellent, and Natalie is such a thoughtful, talented writer. Can't wait to see this one in print!!

Anyway, this happened fast and we're moving in a couple weeks and my writing life has been suffering for awhile from a lack of necessary time. I'm hoping this move will jump start the process again and I can finish this damn draft and start editing already.

Fun fact: I started writing my first novel (TIME EMIT, which was deeply influenced by A Kid in King Arthurs Court) in seventh grade right there in front of the fireplace. It's going to be weird being back here, friends.

Somehow this place keeps getting worse but I still have friends on here and friends, I want you to know: you'll never catch me writing here again.
