i want to join a members club that is not in west london, has a gym, has a nice bar, has a space i can work on my laptop into the evening, and that is less than £1500 a year. does such a thing exist. don’t say soho house

@MartinSkold2 Some with a PhD didn’t sign up to traditional academic structures and still teach. I teach critical thinking, and (a multidisciplinary course in) decision making, and would love to reach more learners. Reading challenging materials is an essential part of both.

It will actually have four parts: —Public school (“poor”) kids will be lobotomized by screens, as they are already being —Upper middle class kids will also be lobotomized by screens, but in private school environments that tell them they’re being educated for The Future, and possibly with slightly better results —-Some- extremely wealthy eccentrics will teach their kids the paper-pen route, if anyone can be found to teach it (in short order the ones who can, whose own educations aren’t deficient, will be aging out) —And a fourth category will homeschool, probably claiming religiosity even if not terribly religious, both for legal protection and to circumvent Conquest’s 2nd Law (look it up) - they will probably end up as some sort of parallel society and quite possibly be overtly persecuted The fourth category includes not only homeschooling parents and their kids but what I may start calling the Shadow Academy - the people on here who should have PhDs and be teaching but for a list of reasons aren’t. The latter include various mutuals of mine and may know who they are. There are probably a lot more out there. We should talk.
