My uncle retired at 67 after 40 years of factory work. He got Pension, Medicare, A paid-off house. he thought he made it. Parkinson's diagnosis at 68. Memory care facility: $11,000/month. Medicare doesn't cover long term care. Nobody told him that. He died at 71. house sold and pension gone. His wife of 48 years is in studio apartment filling for Medicaid. This is the retirement they sold him.
