@siinchol I have resorted to such even though I am a naturalized citizen. My windows are tinted and all documents are up to date yet I refuse to drive because Arabi mafi and I get harassed. They need to go with a digital system to know that we've been stopped 4x in one day! #SSOX

Majority of foreigners in Juba no longer drive because of harassment by traffic police officers who swarm roads, streets and even nooks in the estates. Some have resorted to paying for tinted windows for their vehicles so that are not easily identified from a far (the light-skinned South Sudanese are also victims of this identification from the lightness of one’s skin) and stopped. No serious investor would take this country seriously if driving yourself amounts to constant harassment on the roads. These acts might be termed as trivial but they have negative consequences for the overall outlook of the country. The number of traffic officers deployed on the streets should be reduced, not every road or street should have the traffic officers. They no longer care about managing the traffic flow, instead they are fixated on compliance, not traffic offenses or enforcement of safety measures.

I’m engaged, and my fiancé recently found out I own a small apartment that my parents helped me buy years ago. It’s in my name, fully paid off. I’ve always seen it as my safety net. Now he’s asking me to sell it after we get married so we can “invest together” and put everything into a house under both our names. He says keeping it means I’m planning for a future without him. But I don’t see it that way. I see it as something I built before him, something that protects me no matter what happens. And now I feel guilty for wanting to keep it.

@modernemeid I've been thinking about this for quite a while. Why I help some and not others and it definitely boils down to entitlement syndrome. I refuse when the ask is really an expectation and/or demand.

I firmly believe that if you have more than others, you ought to help others but I draw the line at people feeling entitled to this. It has to be the givers’ choice, and their capacity must be considered. Their ‘no’ must also be respected.

Inkomoko South Sudan (@InkomokoSSD) is touching lives across the country through empowering entrepreneurs granting loans instead of aid. Led by a Rwandan national Mr. William Ngabonziza (@ngabowilly) as a Country Director, Inkomoko is teaching citizens to catch fish instead of giving them fish everyday. South Sudan reminds one of the East African countries with exceptional amount of fish from the Nile, Sudd wetlands and the biggest exporter of fish to DRC, Chad, CAR, Kenya and Uganda.
