After lunch, Sr. Director of @UGA_Sports_Turf Matt Hollan, gave us a behind the scenes look of their operations. Unique opportunity to see some of the magic that takes place between football seasons with the preparation of fresh sod to be laid.

Guys had a great time in the Seckinger Cup @tpcsugarloaf . Fun and challenging format. Leading the way for us was Will Halloy and Charles Chamberlain II with a T-7 finish.

As part of their plant nutrients & fertilizer unit, year 1 students amended their raised beds in the victory garden. They researched their crop nutrient requirements, calculated the growing areas, selected the proper fertilizer amounts, then weighed and applied it to their space.

After a week of rehearsals & non-stop use we had Saturday to get the #SuperBowl field dialed back in & ready for kickoff. Lucky to work w/ such an amazing crew. Proud of the effort we brought to this game. #FromTheField

Turf 2 horticulture students have been working keeping pH levels in check and adding liquid fertilizer to their grow towers. Turf 3 FINALLY got some warm enough weather to get out and work on their craft

After a packed round yesterday, we are closely monitoring the weather & course playability for Wednesday. Hoping the fog lifts before we tee off this afternoon.

With the incoming winter storm and the subsequent cold temperatures, tryouts have been cancelled for 27th & 28th. We'll try again the following week Keep warm, stay safe.

Last week, our year 3 turf students FINALLY had some rye grass to mow. This comes after some issues with getting irrigation access and machine maintenance. A HUGE THANK YOU to @JPsTurf for helping us out with some repurposed bed knives, new reel install, and fresh grind.
