Fragrantica dot com has better, more refreshing writing than most modern day poetry. Quality poetic writing can be found nowadays, but most of it will be found in unexpected places, corners of the internet, where people aren’t consciously trying to write poetry, and aren’t merely roleplaying old genres or deep-frying literary references. Most people hear “poetry” and think of something obscure, Shakespearean, or meant to be deciphered like a riddle. But poems aren’t puzzles. Good poetry holds its own, speaks for itself, and surprises. Perfume reviews, when written earnestly, force the writer to contend with experience itself, as scent resists straightforward, objective description. We have pre-delineated vocabularies for what we see and hear, but not for what we smell. To describe a fragrance, people are pushed toward metaphor, image, memory, essence, and invention. Perfume creates poets.

@seashell_luvr yes because I dont want to simply fit into the box of a “wife” but it is entirely different to be Your Wife who is also many many other things. Women shouldn’t be able to be categorized
English

“Wifey material” feels like a diss. Your lover shouldn’t be able categorize you like that. You must surprise them and exist outside the scope of their past preconceptions.

things i’d rather be called instead of a “wifey material” -gold digger -misandrist -cat lady -lesbian -evil witch -self centered

@goldyinsoul It sensitizes and breaks out my skin but everyone is different. I just think it isn’t the miracle ingredient brands think it is to put it in EVERYTHING
English

@ioppresswomen at least diesel is honest about what it is, and you know what is on your hands. Petroleum is also in a lot of skincare products, hiding behind the facade of being a normal unassuming face cream 😧

@etino_ @khole_emily Also have not read article (yet) lol 😜
English

@softlarksong @khole_emily I don’t think you get the point of the article. Tabi’s have been so widely circulated because of social media, and ppl blindly buy them only to appear quirky and have the “coquette art girl” aesthetic which honestly your profile screams of
English

@etino_ @khole_emily Ive had tabis for many years and grew up in Japan going to Miyajima obsessed with deers so they are personal to me,
but I agree that ppl blindly letting algorithms and “aesthetics” dictate what they buy, rather than digging deeper into their subconscious inspirations, is slop
English

@afaceyface @khole_emily The hoove aspect is one of my favorite part about them, you have a deer profile pic, you know having hooves makes you match the deers

English

@softlarksong @khole_emily tabis look good as socks, but as shows they look like hooves? i didnt even make the connection when j saw the first and i know how tabis look
