I’ll never understand the Bruins picking up other teams failed projects instead of giving that time & effort to their own guys. Why did Reichel get NHL time over Lysell & Poitras? Why do you even make picks if you dont use your own guys? They did it last year with Wahlstrom too!

@gregnog4073 @paulyc1117 They're literally the same player, they gave Reichel a cup of coffee because he just joined the team and they wanted to see if he fit. As soon as his call up time ended they sent him down to play with Providence. Lysell had many opportunities to crack the line up.

@paulyc1117 Even still, the Bruins traded for Reichel before Lysell got hurt, he was an option and they chose to give Reichel a shot over him. Same thing last year, they chose to give Oliver Wahlstrom minutes instead of their own home grown guys.

@tumbytimejr @gregnog4073 At this point Lysell should be traded, but as an RFA I don't think any team gives the value he's actually worth. He should easily fetch a 2nd but that's going to be a lot for most teams.

@gregnog4073 The AHL is a more skill based league. The NHL is more physical. A player like Lysell thrives in the AHL because he's small and skilled. He gets bullied in the NHL. He deserves a chance but every time he's been up, he's not thrived. B's aren't built for his play style.

@gregnog4073 They don't want Poitras playing 8 - 10 minutes a game on the 4th line. They want him to get as much time on the ice as possible so he can develop. Hence him playing first and second line minutes all year in Providence.

What does Sean Kuraly do that Matt Poitras can’t? What does Mikey Eyssimont do that James Hagens can’t? I’m so tired of listening to this team’s management and coaching staff talk about young players having to “earn it” while the current bottom 6 does basically nothing

I think the Bruins made the right call with Hagens at every point. Gave him the opportunity to ease into pro action & didn't burn his ELC before essentially locking up playoffs, but also called him up when they realized they kinda need him
