@k_omotani If you add more schema update statements, sqlc will have to do more work. But it shouldn't be perceptible because the extra work is so small relative to everything else that sqlc does.

./migrationsとかでマイグレーションファイル置いといて、sqlc.ymlで「schema: "./migrations/"」って書けば別で書く必要ないのね。

sqlcのschemaってどういう仕組みになってるんだろ？generateするたびに内部的にmigration実行してDB構築してるのかな？

@gorilla0513 The documentation is unfortunately lacking. The plugin interface is essentially gRPC over stdin/stdout. A reasonable place to start is with our plugin SDK for Go (github.com/sqlc-dev/plugi…) which implements the interface. And for a full plugin example, see github.com/sqlc-dev/sqlc-….

@sqlcdev I specified `sql_package: pgx/v5` because I wanted to parse the `infinity` value in the timestamp column and map it to `pgtype.Timestamp`. However, by doing so, the interface changes from `database/sql`, which means I can no longer use the txdb driver for testing.

sqlcにpgxを使うよう指示すると、pgxの情報を得るわけだから、pgxのインターフェイスが要るわけで、そりゃsql.DBでその情報が得られるわけはないんだよな…仕方ない、pgxは諦めて、スキーマとクエリで工夫するか

@jamesqquick I've used a whole bunch of ORMs (ts/js) and I generally dislike them all. I've gone back to using raw sql using postgres.js and it's refreshingly simple. I don't have to fight with learning another way to abstract SQL and make sure the output doesn't do stupid things.

Just added GitHub as an authentication provider to sqlc Cloud, in case you don't have (or don't want to use) a Google account.

@sqlcdev @eatonphil @sqlc Looking forward to it. BTW, discovered sqlc recently, and LOVE it. I have been doing SQL for over 2 decades but Go for only 1/4th that long, so it really scratches my itch.

For INSERT-heavy workloads in Go, you may want to switch database drivers. For PostgreSQL and SQLite, the popular drivers are 20-76% slower for this workload in my tests. Some driver developers have reported issues with database/sql as an interface. notes.eatonphil.com/2023-10-05-go-…

@zztkm Are you writing a plugin in Go or something else? We will likely expose the internal/rpc interface soon so that a Go plugin can actually just implement the gRPC server interface directly and hand that to the sdk.

sqlcでコマンドプラグインを使っていて、zshではPATHが通ってるけどbashではPATHが通ってないという環境で、コマンドを見つからずにハマるケースがあった。コマンドプラグインの起動にbash使ってるの？ 良く分からない・・・
