"When our customers succeed, America succeeds." "America has the talent, ingenuity, and drive to lead the world in making things." "Make the United States the best place on Earth to build again." Watch our CEO share our recommended National Robotics Strategy with Congress:
Evan Beard@evanbeard

Here is a clip from my testimony to Congress today. We presented a 4-part plan—informed by surveys from hundreds of manufacturers—detailing how the US can bring back manufacturing and lead the world in robotics. I’m heartened by the reception from the members we met, especially in private meetings before and after. There is a real pull to drive meaningful change on Capitol Hill. The best robotics wedge nobody’s talking about: Industry-specific form factor → teleop deployment → proprietary workflow data → agentic automation layer on top built into the systems of the end customer → full autonomy explodes margin over time Lower COGs than general-purpose humanoids. Real revenue on day one. Switching costs before you’ve touched autonomy. Distribution, cost structure, process power, counter-positioning and cornered resources are moats. Robots aren’t exempt from this.

The U.S. is falling dangerously behind China in robotics and automation—and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Our CEO, @evanbeard, recently raised this issue in a meeting at the Department of Commerce with leaders from OpenAI, Meta, NVIDIA, and Tesla, emphasizing the urgent need to strengthen America’s robotics sector. @YasminKhorram reports in @politico, quoting Evan: “There was a resounding message that: A, we need a national robotics strategy to avoid falling behind, B, dramatic action is needed, and C, the administration is taking it extremely seriously.” Standard Bots is proud to be helping chart this critical course for American robotics alongside our industry peers. Follow here for our key takeaways from the meeting. Read the full story below: subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2026/0… #robotics #automation #madeinusa

That's a wrap on Work Truck Week! Big thank you to NTEA – The Work Truck Association for having us. We loved demoing how our robots handle #welding and machine tending — and how fast teams can get them get them running for #truck bed, body, and chassis production. Plus, programming is so simple a five-year-old did it. That’s the goal: #robots that anyone on the floor can program in minutes, not weeks. Shoutout to our incredible team for making it happen. Next up: Modex April 13-16, and AeroDef April 14-16. See you there.

How do we automate the impossible? #AI and vertical integration. "When we find a new edge case, we can iterate on our entire system of variable robots. This is because we are fully vertically integrated, including data collection, the AI models, the firmware, and the physical arm." That’s how we automate the use cases everyone else writes off as impossible. “Competitor robot interfaces aren’t great. We can do 10x better.” Before we built a no-code interface that anyone could program, our CEO and co-founder @evanbeard spent years in conversations with hundreds of manufacturers, listening to their challenges and needs. The biggest barrier to automation? The need for specialized technical expertise and a steep price tag for third-party implementation and ongoing management. That’s why we made the most accessible industrial robot on the market to unlock automation for U.S. manufacturing. Automation is the key to competing with Chinese manufacturing productivity. But today, 99% of real-world tasks are still out of reach. Closing the gap starts with data. By collecting more real-world variability #data on the job, we inevitably expand automation use cases. And when we simplify #robot training, we enable faster deployment, broader access to #automation, and continue to expand the spectrum of use cases. More data → More automation → We compete globally. Listen to our co-founder & CEO @evanbeard full interview with @jonfortt to find out how we’re building robots here in the U.S. that automate the impossible: linkedin.com/posts/jonfortt…

Applying LLM ideas to robotics has driven real breakthroughs in recent years. But text can only take a robot so far. Think about how you train people: you show it to them, you give them feedback as they do it a few times to get the hang of it. To understand alignment, timing, exercise judgement, and recover when something inevitably goes differently, robots need #data in 3D — including torques and forces. Plus, the data needs to occur through time. They almost need to *feel* the movements. And this is where teach-by-demonstration comes in. It is the key to expanding #automation, from access to use cases. At Standard Bots, we're proud to be leading the charge. Manufacturers want automation. But the vast majority of processes they need to automate still fall outside what traditional robots can handle. By combining modern robotics with AI, we’re expanding automation beyond hardcoded programs that are too rigid for most modern workplaces. Listen to Standard Bots CEO & co-founder @evanbeard speak with @IlirAliu_ on how his conversations with 100+ manufacturers shaped our approach — and how AI is redefining what’s possible on the factory floor. #automation #ai #robots #manufacturing

🎙️ @evanbeard is the co-founder and CEO of @standardbots, building AI-trained industrial robot arms designed to automate real factory work, not demos: In this episode, Evan shares a founder path that started in software startups and Y Combinator long before robotics. Seeing engineers at YC building giant robots convinced him this was a “cheat code on life” and he taught himself mechanical and electrical engineering to make it possible We talk about the early years spent building prototypes in a small apartment, running more than one hundred calls with manufacturers, and discovering the same problem every time. Companies wanted automation, but robots were too expensive and too difficult to program Evan explains why Standard Bots focuses on usable automation instead of chasing hype. The goal was not a slightly better robot but something ten times easier to deploy, trained through demonstration and physical AI rather than complex programming We also discuss surviving the near-death phase, raising funding weeks before running out of money, rebuilding electronics during the chip shortage, and learning electrical engineering while debugging exploding circuit boards remotely A conversation about persistence, customer obsession, and why the future of robotics will be decided by real ROI on factory floors, not humanoid spectacle. “This is the ChatGPT moment for the physical world.” For decades, we programmed robots by saving points and replaying motions. That works for some welding and basic pick-and-place, but it breaks the moment conditions change. As a result, dangerous, dirty, and repetitive factory work is still mostly manual. Only 1% of tasks are automated today. But physical AI changes this. Teach-by-demonstration unlocks an entirely new class of automation. This is how we expand automation, increase productivity, and make U.S. manufacturing competitive again. We’re proud to be leading the charge. Our co-founder & CEO @EvanBeard breaks this down in his interview with @jonfortt on Fortt Knox. Watch it here: x.com/i/broadcasts/1…

Robots fail where data is missing. So how do you collect high-quality, on-policy physical data while the task is being done? Teleop. By capturing human demonstrations in production environments, teleoperation generates on-policy, task-relevant data that makes new, up-until-now-impossible automation possible. ( Bonus: It looks pretty cool.) #physicalai #robotics #automation #teleop
