A single joke tweet changed the course of my career. 5 years ago today, I posted about a “fake app” that would let anyone deploy a token with one click. Back then it sounded absurd, today it’s just another button click (or app sign-up). It was deep COVID. ETH was $400. The world felt stuck. That tweet sparked a Telegram group, an airdrop of the (original) $MEME token, and 11 days later, dontbuymeme: the first NFT/DeFi platform where staking earned you NFTs. $MEME cracked the @coingecko top 100. For some, selling at the top meant a 7-figure airdrop. (Of course, I round-tripped it.) We kept going, partnering with artists, building tools, watching digital culture evolve in real time. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the tech again. I left @Consensys to dive head-first into NFTs. And now, at @artblocks_io, I’m still chasing that magic. More experiments. More art. No permission necessary.
