US Oil & Gas Association
Good evening Rep. Titus. Several of your constituents have asked us to respond to this post. We refer you to prior our comments to your colleague Rep. Lee. BUT with an additional addendum that others might find interesting. Roughly 88% of Nevada’s transportation fuels — including nearly 90% of Southern Nevada’s supply and the Las Vegas area via the Calnev Pipeline — comes from California refineries. With CA Democrat energy policy forcing the closure of major facilities, this dependency will mean higher prices & tighter supply ahead. Nevada has virtually ZERO gasoline refining capacity of its own. Just as Asian and European countries are learning that it is unwise to let their economies be vulnerable foreign geographic choke points -- We recommend Nevada decouple itself from CA energy policy as soon as possible. Now having said that - allow us to also point out a number of votes you have cast which exacerbated this situation Nevadans now find themselves in. Here are just 5 examples: 1. NAY on H.R. 1 — Lower Energy Costs Act (2023). This bill boosted domestic oil/gas production & cut red tape to lower prices. You voted no. It passed 225-204. 2. NAY on rolling back the Methane Polluter Fee. This tax raised producer costs passed to consumers at the pump. Opposing rollback kept it in place. 3. NAY on attacking critical oil & gas leasing reforms (2024). Your vote helped preserve limits on new federal leases, reducing supply growth. 4. NAY on undermining federal blocks on LNG exports (2024). Maintained uncertainty that discourages production & raises domestic fuel costs. 5. NAY on rushing pipeline review & coordination (2025). Opposed faster approvals that would cut delays & bottlenecks for moving fuel efficiently. We think it is important to remind you that you have been consistent in opposing more drilling, leasing, LNG & pipelines. This is not helpful in producing more energy for Nevadans. We respectfully ask that you not do that any more.

In less than a month, gas prices have rapidly increased #OnlyInDistrictOne thanks to @POTUS’s war in Iran. Just look at the difference in costs at the gas station behind my district office between March 17 and April 2. ⬇️

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

You know, I rip on the Democrat Party a lot, and for good reason. But to be fair, I have to give credit where credit is due. It’s just such a super nice thing how the Democrats periodically sponsor these elder care outings. These early Hippie Boomers who comprise 97% of the “No Kings” “protestors” just sit in their urine-stained beds in the elder care facility most of the time, staring at the wall, thinking about that time they took the brown acid. It’s so very, very NICE that they get a chance to get out and smell some fresh air for a few hours. It gives them a chance to grease up the wheels on their walkers, crank up some Janis Joplin on the community hi-fi, and get out to protest… something. Goldwater maybe. Or the War in Vietnam. Not sure. Neither are they. But HEY! Fight the power, right? Plus they get free Soros-funded turkey sandwiches, free CCP-funded signs to wave and free ActBlue-funded buses from the facility to the protest and back. And don’t forget those nice young DNC volunteers rounding up the worst dementia patients to get then registered to vote (for later ballot harvesting back at the facility)! All in all what a fun outing for people who deserve some fun in their lives. Thanks, DNC!!!
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

Tomorrow, millions of Americans will be joining No Kings rallies. We will be saying NO to authoritarianism. NO to oligarchy. NO to endless wars. NO to the continued attacks against the working class. I look forward to seeing you in St. Paul, MN.

Absolutely awful The Peers are being abolished because they prove the central claim of egalitarian mass democracy false “Lord” Fresh Off the Boat is not as good a steward of the nation, nor as interested in being one, as those like the Grosvenors and Percys who have ruled for a millennium and are deeply tied to the communities in which they live. All are not equal, and never will be equal But as equality is the idol of our day, the sub around which all must revolve, that is unacceptable and can’t be recognized by policy, much less admitted So the Lords are being abolished as the last vestiges of tradition in Britain are being destroyed

Evidence of more Trump lies. The Pentagon knows that it has to have credibility after Trump. Good to see the briefers tell the truth.
Zachary Cohen@ZcohenCNN

New: Pentagon briefers acknowledged to congressional staff in a briefing Sunday that Iran was not planning to strike US forces or bases in the Middle East unless Israel attacked Iran first, multiple sources to @NatashaBertrand, @jmhansler & me. Why this matters: It undercuts Trump admin’s argument on Saturday that Iran was planning to potentially strike the US preemptively & posed an imminent threat: #cmm8g18pb00003b6s68xqscio" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">cnn.com/world/live-new…

Zanjan is 300 kilometers northwest of Tehran. It is not a nuclear site. It is not where the IRGC commands its missile forces. It is not on any published target list that any Western analyst predicted before this morning. And it is being bombed. Ahram Online confirmed Israeli-US aircraft struck a depot site in Zanjan. IRNA, Iran’s own state news agency, reported explosions. Multiple OSINT accounts circulated footage of detonations consistent with precision-guided munitions hitting stored ordnance, the kind of secondary explosions that happen when a bomb hits a warehouse full of things that also explode. Now pull the map back and understand what Zanjan tells you about the scale of what is happening inside Iran tonight. Tehran. Isfahan. Qom. Karaj. Kermanshah. Tabriz. Lorestan. And now Zanjan. Eight cities across a country the size of Alaska being struck simultaneously by two air forces operating from carriers, regional bases, and stealth platforms that Iran cannot detect. This is not a targeted operation against a nuclear program. This is the systematic dismantlement of Iran’s entire military supply chain. Depots. Command nodes. Radar installations. Missile storage. Leadership compounds. The target list has expanded by hundreds of percent according to Israeli sources who described thousands of hours of intelligence preparation. Every site Iran spent decades building and dispersing across its geography to survive exactly this kind of attack is being hit in a single campaign. Zanjan tells you the intelligence penetration is total. These are not obvious targets. A depot in a northwestern city that does not appear in any IAEA report or Congressional Research Service briefing means that American and Israeli intelligence mapped Iran’s logistics network down to the warehouse level. They know where the missiles are stored before they are loaded onto launchers. They know where the spare parts sit. They know which depots feed which launch sites and they are severing every supply artery in parallel so that what survives the first wave has nothing to reload with for the second. Iran built its military doctrine on dispersal. Spread everything across a country of 1.6 million square kilometers so that no single strike can be decisive. Hide production in mountain tunnels. Store missiles in civilian areas. Scatter command posts across eight provinces. The entire strategy assumed the enemy would hit the obvious targets and miss the rest. The enemy hit Zanjan. The enemy is not missing anything. When a military campaign reaches cities that no analyst predicted, it means the target list is not a list. It is a map. And the map covers everything. Iran did not prepare for a war this wide. Nobody told them to. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

If this works out it would be such a humiliation for the foreign policy establishment. Decades of clever schemes and gameplay and all this time you could just kick the door down, kill the leader, and warn the next guy that if he doesn't behave he knows what'll happen.

I am grateful for our brave men and women who are conducting Operation Epic Fury and am praying for those servicemembers who are under attack across the region. The White House must immediately provide all of Congress with a detailed, classified briefing on this operation and its long-term strategy, including how it intends to prevent instability across the region.  I’ve always believed that Iran can never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon – especially because the Iranian regime is fully committed to the destruction of the U.S. and Israel. At the same time, Iran’s support for ballistic missiles and terrorist proxies are some of the leading national security threats to the U.S., Israel, and the region. The Iranian regime and its proxies have blood on their hands from the thousands of American and IDF troops who they have killed and wounded, and the many others who now sit in harm’s way.  As we have seen in the recent violent crackdowns on Iranian protestors that have killed tens of thousands of innocent people, the regime has no hesitation in ruthlessly punishing its own citizens, who have suffered for so many decades under their government’s cruelty. I stand with the Iranian people in their hope for a better future and will continue to work in a bipartisan way in Congress to provide them the support they need to access critical information that aids their efforts for freedom and defend against and document human rights violations. Likewise, my support for Israel and for ensuring it has what it needs to protect itself from attacks by Iran and its proxies remains ironclad.  At the same time, I am concerned that the President’s approach to armed conflict over the past year and his Administration’s history of repeatedly withholding information and misleading Congress could lead us into another protracted Middle East conflict, without authorization from Congress. The American people are wary of prolonged military engagements abroad, especially when the objectives are unclear. That is why the Constitution is clear that only Congress has the ability to declare war and authorize the use of military force.  I will continue to stand with and pray for the safety of our troops, personnel, and Americans across the region.
