Stay there 5 years… that’s $120,000.
Gone.
No ownership. No asset. Nothing to show for it.

The same principle applies today, though, a 350k home with a 3.5% rate required about 75k in 2016. If you aren't actively increasing your income one way or another, hard to sympathize with you.
