This is incredibly powerful from Alexandra Parmar-Yee, calling on the government to legislate to protect trans people’s rights, privacy and inclusion: “The government’s own equality impact assessment admits that the impact on all trans people will likely be wide-ranging and negative, and notes trans women could face “disproportionate risk of violence and sexual assault” if we are left only with access to men’s services. The document also notes that “women who are considered masculine may face greater scrutiny” and warns of adverse impacts on disabled people. It will be more than just the trans community who suffer under a system that encourages suspicion of people’s gender based on “physique or physical appearance”, to quote the guidance itself. Trans people will be left with a choice between researching toilet provision every time we go out or living our lives as we always have – only now without the protection of the law. In reality, our worlds will get smaller, and so many trans people who enrich our communities will self-exclude, leaving everyone worse off.” theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Baroness Shaista Gohir member of the House of Lords and CEO of Muslim Women's Network UK spoke in the British House of Lords and called out the government for not speaking out on anti Muslim hatred and not showing solidarity to Muslim Communities in the UK.

Today, I was given a permanent ban of posting on my Facebook page, @Meta. The page can exist - apparently - but I am not allowed to post on it anymore. The page has been deemed controversial due to the Giggle v Tickle case and increased popularity of 25,000 new followers in a week. I don't want to labor the irony of being banned on a social networking platform while fighting in court for the right to ban men from a woman only social networking platform, it is what it is. Frankly, I'd love to have the same right that you do, @Meta. Women are routinely punished for not accepting men as women. It doesn't turn those men into women. Nothing will.

Colchester @marksandspencer I asked where the women’s changing room was to try on swimwear. Manager Andrew (he/ his /him) says gender neutral changing areas are “completely safe” for women and girls. For asking him this question, he told me to leave the store. @SexMattersOrg

A lot of people have struggled to believe me when I say that the Australian Human Rights Commission is giving pregnancy protections in law to men who claim to be woman, because it’s so stupid it’s hard to believe anyone would say it. Enjoy:

It’s now the fifth consecutive day with undocumented men being brought over to the UK by border force. 1,128 have now crossed illegally with nearly 150 more arriving yesterday. Reports say more are arriving in migrant camps in Northern France to make the crossing over to England. It’s not stopping!
