@One_Supernova@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 and why do you have a preference for congenital outcomes over medically managed ones? the only justification I can see is the concern that another category of people you deem unfit will recieve this treatment. (4/5)
You are confusing "sex" with its scientific definition. We knew, for all intents and purposes, what female denoted, even before we developed reasoning ability, let alone science. We don't need to know precise chromosomal makeups or even coherently articulate "female" for that matter. Sex recognition is built into us naturally. Just yesterday, a study was published that concluded that pigeons in Europe could efficiently tell the difference between a human male and a human female. There is no societal constraint here; it is pure natural impulse, which the average leftist again is terrified to recognize.
@One_Supernova@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 however, could you reply to my two questions?
1: would you be opposed to a feminized 5ard individual recieving the same accomodations that you want women with CAIS to recieve?
2: what degree of masculinization in an AIS case, in your opinion, makes them eligible?
@One_Supernova@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 I haven't quite read up on it, but from what I understand, I do not think a masculinized athlete like her should be allowed to compete in women's sports, no.
@One_Supernova@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 a side note: accusing me of bad faith because I bring up cases you haven't considered isn't fair. I've been consistent that biological sex is a cluster and your flowchart doesn't account for real people.
@One_Supernova@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 to answer your question, i do not believe that people with 5ard who are masculinized should be allowed to compete in women's sports, just like i don't believe women with 5ard who are not masculinized should be forced into men's sports. (2/2)
@One_Supernova@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 again, what degree of masculinization prevents someone from being justifiably treated as female? AIS is a spectrum.
also refer to my other comment about 5ard. some 5ard individuals present with external female genitalia at birth, with clitoral growth only happening later
@terrorvvitch@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 One condition results in completely feminized individuals.
The other condition results in masculinized individuals with a small penis.
Why in the actual hell would males with 5-ARD be accomodated as female, compete in female sports, etc? This makes no sense.
@One_Supernova@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 also, 5ard often presents with normal female genitalia at birth. if, before or at the start of virilization, a 5ard woman decides to start feminizing hormone therapy, she is indistinguishable from women with CAIS in terms of social history and identification
@One_Supernova@Ras1050562@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 so now the criteria isn't gonads, but degree of masculinization and external genitalia? go back to AIS for a sec and define how severe the insensitivity must be to justify being treated as female.
@One_Supernova@Ras1050562@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 just some examples of stigma and struggles faced by women with CAIS
second link is about a woman who was initially denied surrogacy because of her being male
first link are accounts from CAIS women
@One_Supernova@Ras1050562@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 what that sounds like is "male people can be accomodated as female if they have the right medical excuse." if your definition of sex is a background fact you can ignore when convenient, why treat it as the ultimate truth about anyone?
@One_Supernova@Ras1050562@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 and if you instead embrace the idea that social reality sometimes overrides biological taxonomy, that begs the question of who decides when to accomodate people? and when? why CAIS women but not 5ARD women, or any other variance? regardless, I appreciate the civil conversation
@One_Supernova@Ras1050562@DawnFowl@philosophymeme0 I notice you stopped replying, which is fine, although I was curious what your reply to this would be. your position seems to be: CAIS women are male, but should be accomodated as female. that's a contradiction I don't think you can resolve without essentialism crumbling-
