Something I find interesting in Lindy-West-Gate: when “More” (the last big poly memoir) came out, it got nearly uniform glowing praise. Two years later, West’s poly memoir is universally panned. More was a *much* more disturbing book than Adult Braces. The winds have shifted.

about 20 years ago, in August 2005, Thacker did a hit job on me for my criticism of work by climate "scientist" Michael Mann, a pal of Daszask, Fauci and Hotez. At the time, Thacker uncritically relied on statements from their milieu as being authoritative. I wrote about my experience with them at the time. climateaudit.org/2006/04/13/tha… There was much contemporary interest in the controversy - the National Academy of Sciences commissioned a report; the House Energy and Commerce Committee held hearings (at which I testified); correspondence of Mann and his associates was later released in the Climategate emails. The affair lingered on in Mann's lawsuit against Mark Steyn, filed in 2011 and heard in 2024. The case lingers on as Mann is appealing costs awarded against him.

ACIP has been disbanded.
The government’s response to the AAP lawsuit and judge Murphey’s injunction is to disband and then recreate a new ACIP committee, as this will take less time than would be required to file and prosecute an appeal. There will be no action from the government to respond to the defamatory characterization of the former ACIP members.
