I spoke with 3 NIL agents today about their players in the American Conference. Here’s the TLDR: • American Conference schools offer far less than rumors suggest • Players often look elsewhere if their position coach leaves • No chance in keeping a top WR if his QB leaves

Before anyone says this is tampering or illegal. Eric Morris left UNT so Mestemaker and teammates are free to enter portal immediately. With Drew Mestemaker going to OK St and Brophy as OC, can they land the whole UNT offense? Caleb Hawkins, Wyatt Young, Miles Coleman, etc.

Miami wants a spot in the playoffs, as does Vanderbilt. What if there was a play-in game between those bubble teams and the G5 instead of just a G5 AQ? Have no idea how you’d set it up exactly (I’m just spit-balling here), but if Tulane wants in, fine… beat a P5 bubble team and prove you belong. Miami wants off the bubble? OK, just beat a manageable G5 squad and you take what was previously their AQ spot. If two G5 teams qualify, then Vandy gets a shot too. And if the G5 can beat a strong P5 team, then they deserve to get in at that point. Hell, idk… let’s get crazy 🤷‍♂️

The College Football Playoff Committee doomsday scenario: - BYU beats Texas Tech - Duke beats Virginia - UGA beats Bama By rule they are required to take the 5 highest ranked conference champs. Since Duke would be unranked, they must take: - IU/OSU winner (B1G) - Georgia (SEC) - BYU (B12) - James Madison (Sun Belt) - North Texas/ Tulane (AAC) That leaves 7 slots. These teams are locked: - OSU/IU loser - Oregon - Ole Miss - Texas A&M - Oklahoma So you can only take two of: - Texas Tech - Notre Dame - Alabama - Miami The two G5 champs ranked in the 20s likely bump out Miami (with *no* ACC team making the playoff), and either ND or a top-10 P4 runner-up is left out in TTU or Alabama. The requirement that the top 5 conference champions, regardless of ranking, make the field continues to do far more harm than good.
