I fully believe Celine that we live in an age where everything must be dragged through the mud to see if it still shines. I controlled every aspect of this video. Each scene was prearranged by me before being animated. AI simply replaced the camera and crew that I can’t afford. Ask AI to “reimagine Take On Me” and you’ll get slop. Use AI to project from your own imagination and you’ll get this.

The dislike button seems poorly thought out. What was the intent here, that “legitimate” posters will downvote bots/ slop? I don’t see that working. I dont want to spend my time on here policing bad actors. Slop and bot accounts are innumerable. And they can just as easily downvote back in a coordinated attacks. It’s going to lead to manipulation and adversarial behavior, exactly the kind of dynamic that leads to group think on Reddit.

Dune's Chani: The whole WHITE or NOT WHITE argument is so dumb. We've all read the books and the description of her as skinny, elvish features, red hair, blue eyes... and we can imagine that. And we can imagine desert woman with red hair because many ancient Egyptians did in fact have red hair. We can imagine this character. I'm not saying she's Irish, but she's definitely not generic brownoid like Zendaya. And that's why the film casting is so lazy and annoying. The whole way they treated her character is disrespectful to the source material. And not just that but their rewriting of the character is extremely lazy. I get it that "modern" writers and directors don't like her character, they would prefer a snarky girlboss character. But that's exactly why it's pathetic and LAZY to just change the character. Real artistry would be respecting the source material and doing your best to present the character as originally intended by the author. Wrestle with the original character. Struggle with how to present her on screen. Really stress over her lines in the film. This is how you make art and interesting characters. Changing her to generic girlboss is lame and boring, and it's a huge stain on the film.
