JUST IN: American skier Lindsey Vonn says she has no regrets after her crash, tells her supporters that "life is too short not to take chances on yourself."
"I tried. I dreamt. I jumped."
"I hope if you take away anything from my journey, it's that you all have the courage to dare greatly."
Read her full statement below:
"Yesterday, my Olympic dream did not finish the way I dreamt it would. It wasn't a story book ending or a fairy tail, it was just life. I dared to dream and had worked so hard to achieve it. Because in Downhill ski racing the difference between a strategic line and a catastrophic injury can be as small as 5 inches.
I was simply 5 inches too tight on my line when my right arm hooked inside of the gate, twisting me and resulted in my crash. My ACL and past injuries had nothing to do with my crash whatsoever.
Unfortunately, I sustained a complex tibia fracture that is currently stable but will require multiple surgeries to fix properly.
While yesterday did not end the way I had hoped, and despite the intense physical pain it caused, I have no regrets. Standing in the starting gate yesterday was an incredible feeling that I will never forget. Knowing I stood there having a chance to win was a victory in and of itself. I also knew that racing was a risk.
It always was and always will be an incredibly dangerous sport.
And similar to ski racing, we take risks in life. We dream. We love. We jump. And sometimes we fall. Sometimes our hearts are broken. Sometimes we don't achieve the dreams we know we could have. But that is also the beauty of life; we can try.
I tried. I dreamt. I jumped.
I hope if you take away anything from my journey it's that you all have the courage to dare greatly. Life is too short not to take chances on yourself. Because the only failure in life is not trying.
I believe in you, just as you believed in me."

@preston_holland @paulswaney3 Going from not realizing how expensive it is to realizing it’s both affordable and beneficial is definitely crossing the Rubicon…
English

@paulswaney3 🤣 people I think either don’t realize how expensive it is nor how relatively affordable it is, there is no in between
English

Genuinely curious @preston_holland why are people who cannot afford private jets always the ones asking “why do you not fly private.”
It reminds me of budget airline passengers judging those in first class.

@tricmiranda @embraer Is she still good with her Tesla - or are you now a new NJ P500 owner? 🤣
English

Man, @embraer just blew it out the park. They brought both airplanes-gave my wife and I the full walk-through. The P500 isn’t just beautiful on the outside… walk inside and you feel it. Big thanks to their team, I am very grateful and clearly in abundance .”

Finally choose to go with @NetJets for my plane-tough choice, but I’m super stoked, It’s Truly amazing—like aligning with a gentle giant powerhouse. The premium service, features, and strong foundation impressed me big time. Serves me in Europe and US. Above everything, it’s super private and effortlessly corporate. Let’s conquer the aviation world.

@tricmiranda @preston_holland @NetJets Yes, I love the width of the cabin and the seats - awesome plane.
English

@thomasbalames @preston_holland @NetJets I know! You fly the praetor right? You like it? Or Love it?
English

@tricmiranda @preston_holland @NetJets Love the positivity of the “yet” - Hopefully NJ doesn’t upgrade you to the Praetor when you’re flying with your wife/significant other - You may never fly the P300 again. 🤣
English

@thomasbalames @preston_holland @NetJets Thank you very much! I am proud, kind of scary the 5 year commitment but I’m sure its all a positive thing! Didn’t go with the Praetor (yet =) )
English

Went with FJ in a Praetor 500 last year - NJ was more expensive and didn’t have a P500 available to sell until this year - would have had to go with a Latitude, which I didn’t want. FJ was also less $$$ in both acquisition cost and management fee, and has been great from a customer service standpoint.

@BryanGreenbaum @preston_holland @Flexjet May I ask why ? Because I met with Netjets yesterday and they are my top spot honestly but Flex is close second with a lower entry price.
English

I sincerely appreciate the attention to detail that @Flexjet has to earn a customer , is impeccable. They brought a plane that I am interested for Fractional, pilots were amazing at preparing it, most importantly the team synergy was impressive and felt authentic. Is like a family that wants to welcome you. Absolutely well done.

@preston_holland Pricing is crazy at KAGS during The Masters - KAIK is more reasonable and a very good option during the tournament.
English

@Privatejetman Hmmm - Someone with extremely poor taste in shirts.
