Thanks to Mr. Overkill, I was able to sync a full Bitcoin Core node in 7 hours and 40 minutes – and could easily shave off 1 hour with some optimizations. Which full node should I try to sync next?

@rot13maxi You can probably buy hardware for two nodes for cheaper than one of those transactions.

@Dieter75 Yeah, I know of exactly where they would do it. I don't have access to it, per se, if I had some reasonable proof I could probably get the landlord to go snoopin' though for me.

Why isn't there a Moore's law for bandwidth? There is. Nielson's law, it's just slower, at 57x over 10y vs 100x over 10y like Moore's, and that's probably not equally distributed geographically, and comes in spurts, as companies have to dig up and replace real infrastructure...

#bch nodes are significantly easier to run than #btc    nodes. Lower hardware and bandwidth requirements. Lower fees when you want to transact too.

@crypto_0ptimist So... wait... are you saying that BCH has SMALLER blocks than BTC? (due to not enough use?)

@timechain_ Afaik.. there's a soft cap (miner agreement) of 8mb, and a current consensus cap of 32 mb.. But if there's not that many transactions, then it's small.

@timechain_ Their average blocksize is a few hundred kb. Crazy low.

@crypto_0ptimist Yeah, although BCH is set up for 32MB, if they aren't filled, (and they aren't) they become 8MB. When earlier this year BTC blocks were becoming closer to 4MB, it was funny to see BTC only half of BCH. Seems like 8 vs 4 isn't worth a war but whatever.

Obviously... because very few people use it. High fees and a growing chain are hallmarks of success, not failure.
